Our biggest event of the year is back. The Mount Gambier Table Tennis Club is throwing open the doors for the 2026 Club Championships across three big nights — Monday 31 August, Wednesday 2 September and Friday 4 September — and every member is welcome to have a crack.
Whether you're a hardened A-grader chasing another title, a first-season C-grader keen to test yourself, or somewhere in the middle wondering if you're "good enough" to put your name down — yes, you are. The Club Championships are for all of us, and the best nights of the tournament always come from unexpected match-ups and gutsy underdog runs.
What's on offer
There are seventeen events across three nights so there's something for everyone:
- Open Singles — Men's and Women's
- Open Doubles (Mixed)
- Grade Singles and Doubles in A, B and C
- Over 40 Singles and Doubles for our senior competitors
- 18–39 Singles and Doubles for the mid-career crowd
- Under 18 Singles and Doubles for our juniors
Entry fees are kept deliberately low — $4 per singles event, $3 per doubles, $2.50 for junior events — so cost is never a barrier to giving it a go. Enter as many events as you like across the three nights, and pick a doubles partner if you're playing paired events (or let us know and we'll help match you up).
Why it matters
The Club Championships are one of the great traditions of MGTTC. Trophies get lifted, honour-board names get engraved, but more importantly, the whole Club comes together to watch, cheer, help umpire, run scoresheets and share a laugh. It's a chance to see how far you've come this season, to play members you don't normally cross paths with, and to shake off the routine of your regular grade fixtures.
Non-playing members are just as welcome — please come along to support. Bring family, bring friends, bring a plate to share if you're around at supper time. The hall is at its best when it's full.
